Alpha Biologics makes and supplies monoclonal antibodies (MAbs) and recombinant proteins (rProteins). Our laboratories optimise the production process, then our advanced cGMP production plant minimises the cost and duration of the manufacturing process.
Product quantity: clients may need milligrams of product, or kilogram quantities. This is no probel to us, as our bioreactors range from 10 litres to 500 litres in size
Process type: whilst some clients prefer to use a simple batch process for antibody or protein production, others require fed-batch or perfusion processes. Our facility has all of these options
Choice of organism or cell: our R&D labs work on bacterial, yeast and mammalian cells processes. For those clients needing mammalian cell manufacturing, our cGMP plant handles most cell lines, including hybridoma, CHO and NSO, amongst others
Process efficiency: sometimes clients have a natural reluctance to spend money on process optimisation, preferring to get to cGMP production in the shortest time at the lowest cost. This can be a false saving, as cGMP manufacturing costs are substantial - and work done at early stages can save money in the long term. We recently quadrupled the yield of a protein just by improving the precipitation stage - representing a huge cost saving to the client - so we help clients to find the best balance of effort before starting work.
Product quality: our processes are designed to give high yields of MAbs and rProteins whilst ensuring maximum purity and optimal safety profiles for clinical trial or other use.
Support Services: we can develop stable cell lines, Master and Manufacturing Working Cell Banks prior to cGMP manufacture. We also provide cell line storage to ensure that re-use can occur with minimal delay.
